Kids are putting Drano, tin foil, and a little water in plastic drink bottles
and capping it up - leaving it on lawns, in mail boxes, in gardens, on
driveways etc. just waiting for you to pick it up intending to put it in the
rubbish, but you’ll never make it!!!
If the bottle is picked up, and the bottle is shaken even just a little - in
about 30 seconds or less it builds up enough gas which then explodes with
enough force to remove some your extremities. The liquid that comes out is
boiling hot as well.
Don’t pick up any plastic bottles that may be lying in your yards or in the
gutter, etc.
Pay attention to this. A plastic bottle with a cap. A little Drano. A little
water. A small piece of foil.
Disturb it by moving it; and BOOM!!
No fingers left and other serious effects to your face, eyes, etc.

the latest in the lois-gets-her-art-stolen chronicles: a chilean publisher has decided to take this artwork, drag it through photoshop hell, and use it as a cover for this book, obviously without permission or compensation of any kind. not only is it copyright infringement but making book covers this ugly should be outlawed too.
anyways, i went through this before when i found my art printed on sweaters in south korea. i talked to a few different lawyers at the time, who told me that i needed a lawyer in the actual country that the theft was taking place.
The thief is Puerto de Escape in Chile (a publisher) and i intend to go after them. however, i need someone who is familiar with chilean law and ideally could hook me up with a lawyer in chile to help me out and give advice. i could also use advice from anyone familiar with these situations and how they can be resolved. if you guys could spread the word and e-mail me at loishh@gmail.com with any information, that would help me SO much! thanks a ton for reading!!

Hey all, recently there have been a number of threats aimed towards HS cosplayers at conventions. These people want to harm cosplayers who have done nothing wrong, going so far as to threaten to kill some cosplayers. The threats have been taken so seriously to the point that a lot of cons are upping security. For the time being at least, any HS cosplayer attending a convention are advised to stay in (larger) groups and to keep an eye out for each other, watching out for suspicious people. Stay safe, guys.

You ALL better check this journal entry, because (even if you wouldn’t believe it) YOUR WORKS in YOUR GALLERIES are in THAT SITE. Just read the journal entry for further info, guys! Because this is not only a DeviantART problem. That sort of “bot” is also getting images from other websites, TUMBLR included.

I do not believe the site actually hosts your images, but instead snags them up AFTER you make a search. THE MORE YOU SEARCH THE MORE IMAGES/LINKS ARE FARMED ONTO THE SIGHT. THE SITE ALSO SHOWS SIGNS OF HOSTING MALWARE!
DO NOT GO TO THIS SITE. DO NOT ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO SEARCH FOR THEIR USERNAMES. There is already plenty of evidence to show that this is a bad site and there is no reason you should put your computer at risk. If you are wondering if your stuff will show up, chances are it will, only BECAUSE you searched in the first place! Don’t let curiosity kill the cat this time!

So now with that out of the way, allow me to explain my predicament.
The short and sweet of it is I have been saddled with an outstanding dental bill and my father is absolutely refusing to help me pay for it. I have some money saved up, but it’s not even close to the full amount. As such, I’m at a loss and am forced to open commissions before I had fully prepared myself.
So for now, I’m doing some really basic commissions, so I can get as much done, as quickly as possible, and hopefully resolve this issue. I’m honestly overwhelmed because I’ve never owed anyone a large sum of money before, and I want to fix things before they get really ugly.
As much as it shames me to do so, I am also making a donation button available on the front page of my blog. Please don’t feel compelled to donate unless you want to. I’m leaving it there as an option, not an obligation. However, I will say that any amount donated would be an enormous help and I would be forever grateful.

Do you know about Richard Williams, the 3-time Academy Award winning animator of Who Framed Roger Rabbit and A Christmas Carol? Do you know about The Thief and the Cobbler, the film he spent 23 years making and intended to be his masterpiece? The film he was never allowed to finish?
Have you seen The Thief and the Cobbler: Recobbled Cut, which attempts to restore Richard Williams’ original vision to this unfinished animated classic?
My name is Garrett Gilchrist. I edited the Recobbled Cut in 2006 (and 2008). I am editing a new “Recobbled Cut Mark 4” right now. I’ve thrown out everything from the previous versions and am starting from scratch with much better materials, including a much better workprint, some HD clips, previously unseen footage and even some new artwork. It’s truer to Richard Williams’ vision and already looks and feels amazing.
BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP.
In 2007, we transferred 49 minutes of extremely rare Thief and the Cobbler 35mm footage (21 minutes of which is used in the current Recobbled Cut), which includes all of The Thief inside the War Machine. The transfer was standard definition, cropped at the top and bottom, overbright and overblue, and left a lot to be desired. The quality is not up to today’s standards.
We are planning to remove splices, dirt and film damage and make this material look as good as it possibly can. To do this, we need a new full quality high definition transfer of these scenes.
Yes, we’re doing this. We need at least $1000 now to pay for the film to HD transfer.
This is a not for profit restoration.
This will be 20+ minutes of priceless Thief 35mm film footage in full HD quality for cleanup and screening. This is not trailer material - these are complete scenes, and they’re wonderful.
Many scenes of The Thief appear in full - being beat up by Nanny, going through the pipes, trying to steal the Golden Balls, trying to steal the emerald, getting his “hands” chopped off, and most impressively, every single shot of The Thief inside the War Machine.
Most of the Old Witch scene is here. There’s some very nice shots of Zigzag, part of the Cobbler/Thief chase scene, and so on and so on.
